  • Fire Safety: The provincial government issued a fire ban for all forested provincial lands as three wildfires continue to burn out of control. The ban is in effect for forested areas from Waterton Lakes National Park to north of Manning and the Fort McMurray area. There is not currently a fire ban in the Summer Village of Itaska Beach, although the situation is being monitored closely and may put a ban out yet. Either way, please exercise extreme caution if having a bonfire.

  • Garbage: There will be a big bin service on the May long weekend.  Weekly garbage pickup and clear-bag grass pickup will start on May 21.

  • Watermere Public Hearing: Leduc County will be hosting a public hearing for the proposed bylaw to adopt the Watermere Resort Local Area Structure Plan.  Will be held on June 12 at 7 pm at the Nisku Recreation Centre (606 - 18 Avenue, Nisku, Alberta) at which time written and oral submissions can be presented to Leduc County Council.

  • Road Ban: Effective March 16, 2012 the road ban of 50% will be on until further notice.  Please respect this limit as it protects the road and minimizes damages and costs.
