Itaska Yacht Club


The Itaska Yacht Club has been running races at Itaska since 1967. This year racing begins with the Icebreaker on July 1st and continues every Sunday morning until Labour Day. Wind permitting, two races are held, with the first starting at 10:30. Coffee is served after each race at the cabin of the captain of the day.

Most of our sailors are from Itaska but a few come from other beaches. Newcomers from anywhere are welcome. Non-sailors can help out by volunteering to officiate races or run a safety boat. For more information contact one of the executive or just come out and sail.

Junior Sailing School July 3 - 6, 2018

The Itaska Yacht Club has asked the Alberta Sailing Association to run a junior sailing school at Itaska for beginner sailors, for ages 8-14. The Sailing School will be held from Tuesday, July 3rd to Friday July 6th. Classes will begin each day at 9:30am and run until 3:30pm. The program is based on the Alberta Sailing Association Mobile Opti Sailing School (MOSS) program. The ASA will provide qualified instructors and Opti sailboats for participants, although students may bring their own boats if they choose.
